I recently joined the ranks of full-time-working America. It's a big change from the days when I had maybe four hours of classes and could nap in between. Don't get me wrong, I adore my job and all the people I get to work with. But preparing to spend more waking hours at the office than at home means one thing: you've got to pack for it. Today's Monday Must-Haves are all about what it'll take to get through an 8 or 10 hour workday.
Getting ready First of all, you've got to get ready the right way. Chances are, you aren't ready to get up an hour and a half early just to get beautiful for work. This is where the right tools come in handy. My newest obsession (I was a little late to the game) is the beautyblender. It's the cutest little hot pink sponge perfect for any complexion product—concealer, foundation, creme blush, etc. I've used countless different tools for foundation and concealer application, and this is it. It gets the product into every little crevice and covers all imperfections evenly.
When I was little, I always imagined I'd be in sky-high heels all day, every day (with the calves of steel to show for it). Now, that's so far from the truth it's laughable. Invest in some adorable sneaks, loafers, and ankle booties. I like my ankle booties with a one or two inch heel, but everything else I get away with a flat shoe. I'm loving these loafers from Target and these booties from H&M (on sale now!).
Workday There are five things you need for a successful workday:
Phone charger: A total no-questions-asked necessity. I love these adorable ones from ban.do.
Refreshing spray: I never knew how magical these were until I tested one out for work. This one from Olivine Atelier is made from rose water and essential oils.
