You guys, we need to talk about top coat. Actually, we really need to talk about Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. When I was younger, I never used top coat. I just didn't like waiting around for more paint to dry, and didn't see the point. When I finally decided it might be worth a shot, I never went back.
I started using Sally Hansen top coat. Then, I swore by OPI top coat—for years. Even after writing a story for Divine Caroline about making your nail polish last longer and having nailcare expert Samira Farr tell me SECHE VITE IS EVERYTHING, I didn't try it. Until this week.
This top coat is EVERYTHING. Samira was so right. I applied Seche Vite after using two coats of my light blue polish (for the 4th, obviously), and I could feel it bonding to my nails. It goes on smooth, with absolutely no bubbles or air pockets, and dries just. like. THAT. And it's not one of those faux-dry situations where it seeeeems dry until you reach into your purse or mess with your hair or go to bed and suddenly there are tiny lines everywhere. It penetrates through your layers of nail lacquer down to the nail plate and forms a single, unpenetratable layer. This stuff is for real. And it's only $10 (and usually on sale somewhere!). Find it at Ulta, Walgreens, Target, Amazon... you name it. And let me know what you think in the comments below!!!
